For cold training throughout fall and spring, when a thermal SS jersey, arm warmers, and vest combo isn’t cutting it, ASSOS has developed a warmer option: the all-new EQUIPE RS Spring Fall Jacket. And while it wears a similar look to our Spring Fall Aero SS Jersey, it features a more insulating internal textile for boosted warmth. This jacket blurs the lines between thermal long-sleeve jersey and low-volume softshell, with increased thermal protection, reflective paneling, and built-in ventilation features.
Men’s road bike softshell jacket: the Equipe RS Spring Fall TARGA Jacket by ASSOS
In shifting spring/fall environments, pair the jacket with either a short-sleeve or long-sleeve Spring Fall Skin Layer. For increased protection, layer the EQUIPE RS Rain Vest, Rain Jacket, or Aero Gilet over the top.
The jacket’s front panel is made by pairing ASSOS’ summer-jersey Push Pull textile with the highly insulating Rhombus liner. Together, these two materials provide the stretchy, breathable, aerodynamic attributes of a standard race jersey, with heat-trapping insulation. The raw-cut fulllength sleeves are made of the SONIC-SN, which is a highly elastic ribbed fabric that ensures a second-skin fit and features a brushed micro-sanded lining for added thermal protection.
Two reflective “valves” on the fronts of the shoulders serve as air vents, pulling in cool air from the outside and injecting it between the jacket’s two overlapping layers of fabric. When going full-gas, preserving a tucked profile yet still needing a touch of body-cooling ventilation, unzipping isn’t always the best option. This design solves the issue, resulting in a regulated core body temperature, without sacrificing aerodynamics.
Features – Equipe RS Spring Fall Jacket
- twinDeck: Double-layer fabric construction boosts insulation using a combination of Push Pull and Rhombus textiles. Employed on the front panel and upper back.
- RacingFit: A fit that is narrower and offers slightly more compression than ASSOS’ regularFit and comfortFit variants. Outside the riding position it can feel quite restrictive, but it sits like a second skin while riding. This leads to improved comfort and less drag
- Reflection: A reflective stripe on the back of the jacket makes you more visible in low light and extreme weather conditions
- Extended back: The extended back protects your lower back from splashing water and dirt
- 2-way zipper: Simply add air at the top or bottom. A rugged design with enlarged zippers for intuitive, glove-friendly handling
- Diffusor: An ASSOS-exclusive sewing construction that creates dual reflective “valves” on the fronts of the shoulders, drawing in cool air for added ventilation
- Triple Ramp Pockets: Our storage design with three textile-lidded pockets optimally located for ease of access; color-coded and featuring a micro-perforated bonded tape for visibility
- ASSOS Clima Range: Spring Fall 2/3
- Fit: Slim Fit (ASSOS racingFit)

AEPD (Advanced Ergonomic Pattern Design)
Stand for the company’s know-how, experience and philosophy on how a garment should be tailored to function in the cyclist’s position. ASSOS garments are designed to perfectly fit and adhere to the body, in other words, to respect the anatomy of the cycling body. High-tech fabrics are pointless if cut « wrong »!
ALS (ASSOS Layering System)
Less is more. The entire ASSOS collection is conceptualized around this technology. ASSOS apparel is engineered with minimum volume, taking advantage of the body’s natural heating/cooling capacities by insulating intelligently through pro-active layering. Both fabrics and garments have chain functions and are cut to complement each other. Everything fits like a puzzle; technically as well as aesthetically. It is up to each cyclist to follow the climate range guidelines and to experiment with the different ASSOS garments in order to find the perfect personal outfit for each specific riding season.
